Fret Nice Strums On To PSN This Thursday, XBLA “Soon”

A platformer you play with a guitar controller, that’s the concept of Fret Nice. Fret Nice started off as a degree thesis project. Then it became an IGF finalist and after that Tecmo purchased Fret Nice, hoping to start a series out of it.

On February 4 (this Thursday), Fret Nice will be available on PlayStation Network with cardboard cutout style graphics for $14.99. Here’s a look at how the controls shape up on a gamepad and guitar controller.

Not sure strumming a guitar to run works? Tecmo plans to release a demo too. When it was first announced, Tecmo said Fret Nice would be for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Since it wasn’t mentioned in today’s announcement we asked Tecmo about the Xbox 360 version. A representative replied, “Yes. It will be coming to XBLA soon as well.” Unfortunately, we don’t have a set release date.
