Frieren Manga Series Goes on Indefinite Hiatus

The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga series will go on an indefinite hiatus after the release of chapter 130. The next chapter is scheduled to release on issue 24 of the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, which will release on May 8, 2024 in Japan. [Thanks, Manga Mogura RE!]

At the time of writing, there is no return date for the Frieren series’ hiatus. However, leaker ryokutya2089 reported that the manga series could return on issue 28 of the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. The previous Frieren chapter 129 released on April 24, 2024 in issue 22 of WSS.

The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga is written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, and it debuted on April 2020. The plot follows elven mage Frieren decades after her party slayed the Demon King. Frieren embarks on a journey to reunite with her former human friend and member of the party, Himmel.

On February 2024 it was reported that Japanese doujinshi website FANZA banned doujinshi content for the Frieren manga series from being hosted on the site.

The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga is being handled by Viz Media. The first and second cour of the anime adaptation are streaming on Crunchyroll.
