Front Mission 1st and the semi state of localization

Later this month Square-Enix is releasing Front Mission 1st, a remake of the SNES game with touch screen control and a tie in with one of the characters from Front Mission 5: The Scars of War. Usually import RPGs are text heavy with katakana or kanji menus to wade through, but not Front Mission 1st. Screenshots of the DS remake show that the menus are in English, but before you get too excited story sequences are still in Japanese. Just in case Square-Enix opts to overlook Front Mission 1st, you’ll be able to select attacks for your Wanzer without referencing a katakana to romanji chart.
