Capcom recently announced that a sequel to their new mixed media series, Gaist Crusher, is in the works, with Sin & Punishment developer Treasure handling development duties once again. In Gaist Crusher God, Recca and his fellow Gaist Crushers will be in charge of stopping God Gaists from wiping the entire human race out to “fix” the world.

In the year 2047, a rare metal, known as the Gaimetal was discovered 50,000m in the depths of the land. The Gaimetal is a metal with the purest form of energy, and was considered to be the discovery of a whole new resource of energy. Since then, the entire world has been digging mines in search of this new form of energy. A few years later, in 2064, the protagonist Recca joins the GCG (Gaist Crusher Garrison) and has participated in various events and saved the world from danger… or so it was believed.

After things started looking normal again in the world, the ultimate Gaist, known as the “God Gaist,” appeared out of nowhere. His goal is to fix the chaotic world… and in order to do so, he’ll need to completely eradicate all of mankind, which created this chaos.

In order to stop the God Gaist and put an end to his twisted ideals, Recca and his fellow Gaist Crushers will be standing up to a new challenge.

However, it won’t be an easy task, as the God Gaist is said to have the power to “unify” the world. We’ve already seen the new God Gaist, called Hino Kaguchi, but it is said that there’s a total of four God Gaists out there, who have the power to see through the “hearts” of humans.

Gaist Crusher God is slated for release in fall 2014 for Nintendo 3DS.
