Creator of turn-based strategy game Skulls of the Shogun, 17-Bit, has released a trailer for its upcoming PC and PlayStation 4 shooter Galak-Z. Take a look at it above.

Galak-Z is described by its creators as “a love letter to 1980s arcade shooters  and Japanese anime Sci-Fi.” But they also claim that it’s more than just that. It has a procedurally generated open-world to explore with scripted missions and a roguelike structure throughout.

It also makes use of the Cyntient A.I. platform so that your alien enemies has the “ability to analyze, react to and learn from their environmentand your behavior as a player.” Due to this, you’ll apparently need to master a mix of stealth and smart maneuvering to survive.

Luckily, on your side is sharp controls and a resource-based, progressive weapons system that gives you room to experiment with your load-out. This means you can whip circles around your enemies before blasting them into gorgeous orange explosions either with missile salvos, laser fire, or a mech-style throw.

Galak-Z should be out soon as it’s now in the final stage of development. You can find out more about it on its website.
