Gegege no Kitaro jumps on to the DS

Gegege no Kitaro, an anime series about a ghostly boy and his eyeball bound father, is getting a Nintendo DS game on July 10. Gegege no Kitaro: Youkai Daigekisen is one of many games based on the character. This one has Gegege no Kitaro punch ghosts, glide with his jacket and fight huge skeletons.

The whole thing sounds old school almost like the Famicom game, which strangely appeared in America. Although, it stripped ties of the Gegege no Kitaro license similar to Bandai’s Dragon Power. Ninja Kid was actually a localized version of Gegege no Kitaro: Youkai Daimakyou. I doubt Namco Bandai is planning to do sprite swapping with Gegege no Kitaro: Youkai Daigekisen.

If you are considering importing Gegege no Kitaro: Youkai Daigekisen there is a pre-order bonus. Namco Bandai is giving people who reserve the game in Japan a soft DS Lite carrying case as a freebie.
