The Genshin Impact 1.2 update stream has come and gone, and Zach “Aether” Aguilar and Sarah “Paimon” Miller-Crews hosted a discussion of things to come on December 23, 2020. After kicking things off with the trailer miHoYo already shared, they went over upcoming events, characters, and additions. So basically, it was a chance to see more of Genshin Impact’s Ganyu and Albedo.
After the trailer, the duo jumped into events. It confirmed that The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event’s overall reward will be a four-star sword called Festering DEsire. People can also get other bonuses like a Crown of Insight, Hero’s Wit, Mora, Mystic Enhancement Ores, and Primogems. There will also be a Lost Riches event with a Treasure-Seeking Seelie, a Hypostatic Symphony event where you fight new Elemental Hypostases enemies, and a Marvelous Merchandise event again.
The Genshin Impact 1.2 presentation then focused on characters. First, Genshin Impact’s Albedo had his moment starting at the 7:55 mark. He’s going to be a five-star Geo unit, and he wields a sword. Khoi Dao is his English voice actor, while Kenji Nojima is his Japanese voice actor. His story quest will be the Princeps Cretaceus Chapter, which will appear after 1.2 does.
Then, there’s Ganyu. She’s an archer connected to the Cryo element. She’s voiced by Jennifer Losi in English and Reina Ueda in Japanese. Her story quest will be Sinae Unicornis Chapter and appear in the middle of January 2021.
A few locations were shown off too. Dragonspine will be home to the Entombed City, Frostbearing Tree, Skyfrost Nail, Snow-Covered Path, Starglow Cavern, and Wyrmrest Valley. Since this is a frigid area, you’ll encounter subzero climates. You’ll have to watch the Sheer Cold bar to make sure characters don’t get too cold and start losing health. The gauge could go down faster if you use certain abilities. Also, the cold will make some gadgets not work.
Some codes for in-game items were also revealed. People can get 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores and 100 Primogems by entering 5KVeIbSxDUU on December 11, 2020. Another, G3tQq6TOqmE, offers 100 Primogems and five Hero’s Wit tomes. Finally, the last one offered 100 Primogems and 50,000 Mora with eATDgIXLD56. All of these codes have an undisclosed, limited number of uses.

Genshin Impact is available on the PlayStation 4, PC, Android devices, and Apple iOS devices. (It is also playable on the PlayStation 5.) It will also come to the Switch. Genshin Impact 1.2 will arrive on December 23, 2020.
