For April Fools’ Day, HoYoVerse released images and shorts of Genshin Impact characters as cats. The cat forms of Diluc, Keqing, Shinobu, and Wanderer all have their own splash art, complete with quotes. Of course, since they’re cats, the only thing they can say is “Meow.”

Here are all four of the Genshin Impact characters as cats.

Each of the cats still retain key elements of their design. Keqing still has her hair accessory and she’s standing near a fried shrimp ball, which is her favorite food. Wanderer’s hat is impossible to mistake too. There are animated versions of the splash arts as well, with them appearing in Live 2D. You can view the April Fools’ Day videos from the Genshin Impact YouTube channel or its TikTok account.

There is a “gift” from the cats as well.

This is also not the first time that HoYoVerse has turned the Genshin Impact characters into animals. For HoYoFair 2022, Grinch Studio submitted a video to the Genshin Impact 2nd Anniversary Special Livestream. All of the non-Archon characters, excluding the Traveler, appeared as various animals such as foxes, rabbits, and (of course) cats.

The next version of Genshin Impact is Version 3.6, and it’s going to go live on April 12, 2023. Its flagship event’s story will revolve around the Akademiya, and its Archon Quest will explore more about Khaenri’ah and Sumeru’s history. Version 3.6 will be the playable debuts of Baizhu and Kaveh as well.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.
