During the Fontaine Special Program, HoYoVerse revealed the release date for the Genshin Impact 4.0 update. The new update will appear on August 16, 2023. The 4.0 update adds new characters, the new Fontaine region, underwater exploration and combat, and new quality of life features. The release was accompanied by a trailer showcasing the upcoming new content.

Additionally, HoYoVerse recently revealed a few new quality of life features that the new update will bring to Genshin Impact. These include a multi-layered map that allows players to view underground and above ground areas, as well as an increase to the inventory limit.
Currently, Wanderer and Kokomi are the two five-star characters that players can obtain from the latest rerun banner. The banner will be available until August 15, 2023.
Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The new Genshin Impact 4.0 version adds the Fontaine region, and its release date is set for August 16, 2023.
