The Genshin Impact Windtrace event is about to begin on May 14, 2021. miHoYo explained that during it, four people at Adventure Rank 20 or higher will randomly take on roles for a set period of time. If someone is the Hunter, they need to find all the Rebels. Meanwhile, the three Rebels have to evade the Hunter. Essentially, it is a game of hide and seek.

You will be randomly assigned a role after stopping by Mondstadt’s Gygax’sand starting a match. All of your attacks and abilities for a character will be replaced with Windward Arts you choose to help you catch your or hide from opponents. For example, a Rebel could use a Disguise to temporarily look like an object, Lay Bait to place a replica or object, or use Transparency to be temporarily invisible. A Hunter, on the other hand, has tricks to help find people. Sensor Aura lets you know if someone is near you, Mysterious Hunch shows you the direction to go to find people, and Catch lets you capture someone.

Both sides can also get a Secret Favor to use a special ability. Rebels can become faster with Starstep after getting one. A Hunter’s Imprisoning Curse can briefly restrain someone and remove their disguise.

As usual, there will be an in-game currency rewarded for playing. The Windtrace Coins can be used at an in-game shop to acquire certain items. Some of the revealed prizes include a Celebration: Peekaboo Event Namecard to use as a new background, Hero’s Wit, Mora, and Primogems.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The Genshin Impact Windtrace event will run May 14-24, 2021.
