The new movie Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Saigo no Ningen will premiere in Japanese theaters on November 23, 2023. It will be a compilation film of the second season of the Netflix anime series. The title of the movie translates to “The Last Human.” Michihito Fujii is in charge of directing it, and he returns after directing the previous film. Additionally, Chief Directors Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki influenced the direction of the movie. Kamiyama previously worked as director on the original Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex anime series, while Aramaki acted as the director of various Appleseed anime movies.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War is a movie adaptation of the first season of the Netflix anime series. The film told the same story, but included additional new scenes. Sustainable War premiered in select theaters in Japan on November 12, 2021.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Saigo no Ningen premieres in Japan on November 23, 2023. The film will be available on 30 theaters throughout the country for three weeks after its release date.
