Crunchyroll, HAYATE, and PlayStation Productions offered an updated release window for the Ghost of Tsushima Legends anime adaptation at the 2026 New York Comic Con. It is now scheduled to appear worldwide in 2028. The original estimate suggested it would be part of one of the 2027 anime seasons.
No reason was offered for the new release window. However, the update did include additional details about the show. We already knew Gen Urobuchi is working on the script. Also, that new statement also announced Mayumi Saco and Shinya Fukumatsu as additional voice actors for the project. As Crunchyroll pointed out in the announcement, Saco did play Tomoe in the game, so this could mean she is reprising her role for this new adaptation.
In addition to the Ghost of Tsushima Legends news, details about another anime adaptation of a game came up during the Crunchyroll NYCC 2026 reveals. It again confirmed the release details for Sekiro: No Defeat so far. That KADOKAWA, Qzil.la and ARCH adaptation will stream on the service in January 2027. It will consist of eight episodes.
It also confirmed subscribers can now play Streets of Rage 4 on mobile devices due to the Crunchyroll Game Vault. People paying for the Mega and Ultimate Fan tiers can access it now. The Witch’s Bakery will also join the service for the Android and iOS versions in the future.
Here’s the trailer for that.
Ghost of Tsushima Legends will be on Crunchyroll in 2028. Ghost of Tsushima is on the PS4, PS5, and PC, and Ghost of Yotei is on the PS5.
