Fans asked if the could see some of the artwork that went into the designs of God Eater 3’s new characters, and Bandai Namco delivered during a recent broadcast for the God Eater series. At the 51:30 mark of the video, we get a look at some of the new characters we’ll meet in God Eater 3, starting with Hugo Pennywort: Hugo Pennywort (CV: Tomokazu Seki) 
Hugo is an AGE (Adaptive God Eater) who grew up together with the protagonist. He’s considered an older brother-figure of the protagonist. 
Here’s a look at the artwork that went into the making of Hugo Pennywort. This is actually the first time Bandai Namco shares the rough drafts for God Eater 3’s new characters. The team decided to share it after numerous requests from fans. Hugo’s design is characterized by his earrings, sharp eyes, and overall “cool” looks. When Hugo’s design was first brought up to producer Yusuke Tomizawa, they recalled how surprised they were, as there hasn’t been a character quite like Hugo in the God Eater series. Claire Victorious (CV: Haruka Tomatsu) 
Upon introducing Claire Victorious, the developers joked about not knowing where to begin with her, as fans had a lot of different things to say—be it about her randoseru-like backpack or about whether she’s wearing panties. (Yes, they said she’s wearing panties.) The logo in the background is that of “Gleipnir,” an organization that was originally a division in the army of the old Fenrir headquarters. Consider them the survivors of the original Fenrir. Unlike the protagonist and the others, you might notice that she only has a bangle on her right arm. She’s considered to be a type of God Eater that is different than them, and potentially more dangerous. 
“It is not a crab!! they’re wings!”
The developers had a little joke about the top of her hair looking like a crab on her head, but Claire says that they’re supposed to be wings. Zeke Pennywort (CV: Shun’ichi Toki) 
Zeke Pennywort is an ally of the protagonist and others from the port of Pennywort. He uses a hammer as his weapon of choice. There are three characters with the Pennywort name, two of them are Zeke’s younger brothers with one living together with him and the other apart, but we’ll learn more about that later. They say he might look a bit mischievous, but he is an older brother and a reliable one. 
Zeke Pennywort is characterized by his flexible body and hairstyle that has a color the developers compare to a banana that is somewhere between ripe and unripe where the green is starting to turn yellow. God Eater 3 is in development for PlayStation 4 and PC.
