Cygames and Arc System Works brought up new details about Granblue Fantasy Rising Versus, with rollback netcode, cross-play, and Grimnir as a playable character confirmed. The whole Evo 2023 panel brought up details about how the fighting game will be improved and changed. We’ll also see costumes for characters, Partners who will talk to players at certain points, Versus ranks, a new Training Mode, and a Grand Bruise party game mode.
With regards to Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising rollback netcode and cross-play, there was actually an official comment on Twitter. They noted that the team had been working on it since the original Granblue Fantasy Versus released in 2020.

In Granblue Fantasy and Versus Rising, Grimnir is a Primal Beast. He also previously appeared in Rage of Bahamut. He’s one of the team’s allies in the original game who is investigating the Singularity. Griffin Burns and Megumi Ogata return to voice him in the fighting game.

Here’s the full list of what will appear, as long as a brief description of how these new elements will work:
- Costumes: You can get costumes for characters. So far Guider to the Eternal Edge is confirmed for Gran.
- Grand Bruise: This is a party minigame mode with activities like Bombshell Barrage, Gold Brick Hoarder, and Rising Royale
- Partners: You’ll select a fully-voiced Granblue Fantasy character to act as basically a cheerleader who will talk after matches and during events.
- Training Mode: This will be a new tutorial mode to learn moves. It also features frame data and no loading.
- Versus Rank: You’ll have a rank for each character you use, rather than a general rank across all characters.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will come to the PS4, PS5, and PC in 2023.
