During the currently ongoing Granblue Fantasy Summer livestream Cygames shared a release date for Granblue Fantasy Versus and an awesome new ‘RPG Mode’ that plays like a side-scrolling beat ‘em up.
You can check out the footage from a trailer revealing RPG Mode below:
The RPG Mode offers a brand-new story that you can play in single-player. It has weapon-collecting and character growth elements to power up characters and weapons for this mode. The “Support Action” is an ability that is different from special attacks, with abilities such as healing, buffing, and debuffing.
In RPG Mode you can acquire “Weapon Skins” that you can use for your characters in regular Granblue Fantasy Versus battles as shown in the trailer. In “Quest Battles” for RPG Mode you can play single-player but also team up with another friend for two-player action with local and online co-op, including intense boss fights against Primals.
The game will launch with 11 playable characters at launch, followed by five more to be added via Season Pass.
Granblue Fantasy Versus releases in Japan on February 6, 2020 for PlayStation 4. Pre-orders in Japan start on August 5, 2019.
