There’s another update on Grand Theft Auto VI. However, it doesn’t involve any gameplay footage. Rather, Rockstar Games shared what the cover art for GTA VI will look like in a new trailer and noted people will be able to put in pre-orders for the PS5 and Xbox Series X game starting on June 25, 2026.
In the case of the pre-orders, this will apply to GTA VI digital and physical copies. The PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store listings will go live that day. Rockstar also mentioned some physical retailers will also start selling it that day, which means checking Amazon and GameStop that day might be wise in the event some sort of limited editions appear.
As for the cover art for GTA VI, it features the same style as past entries. There is a comic panel style approach with different vehicles and characters around the game’s logo. At the very top are the title’s leads Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.
Here’s the cover art trailer:
An important thing about this Rockstar Games GTA VI cover art reveal and pre-orders confirmation is that it essentially acts as reassurance that the game will release as planned in 2026. It originally seemed like a possible 2025 release. Then at one point, it had a May 26, 2026 release date. Following the developer firing staff among union-busting allegations, the November 19, 2026 launch date appeared.
Speaking of those allegations, Game Developer shared an update on the legal case filed by employees terminated by Rockstar, which will be tried starting on September 10, 2026 in the UK. The Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB) members can bring up blacklisting claims and bring up the possible union-busting. Rockstar told Bloomberg that it let people go as a result of leaking confidential information.
Grand Theft Auto VI will come to the PS5 and Xbox Series X on November 19, 2026 and pre-orders open on June 25, 2026.
