The game will have new characters like Ultraman Ginga, Kamen Rider Wizard, and Unicorn Gundam as party members. Bandai Namco also added a new Rush system where players can do a Hero Rush where all of the characters will use a powerful attack.

A regular version of the game costs 5,690 yen and Lost Heroes 2 comes with a code to download an extra 3DS game, Lost Heroes: Bonus Edition. This is a rebalanced version of Lost Heroes with additional voice acting.

Bandai Namco Games also has a limited edition which includes a 3DS port of the Super Famicom game Hero Senki: Project Olympus, 20 theme songs from various TV series, and a 300 page art book.
