Hands on Everyday Shooter

Hidden away with a single kiosk in Sony’s arcade is an amazing game with a boring name, Everyday Shooter. It’s an abstract shmup sort of like Every Extend Extra with the control set up from Geometry Wars. You use one analog stick to move and the other to fire. The trick to Everyday Shooter is getting chains by shooting bombs on the screen that explode and create a chain reaction. If you pull this off little cube appear that you can pick up for points.

Every time you shoot down an amalgamation of four sided blocks a chime plays that blends in with the music. In essence you compliment the soundtrack with your shots. The other neat thing about Everyday Shooter is you only play it for the duration of a song. After a few minutes the song ends and it’s time to select a new stage. The concept makes Everyday Shooter addictive, once you see your score you’ll want to replay the song to master it. While this probably isn't going to push Playstation 3s, Everyday Shooter is rather creative and by far the best PS3 downloadable game I played.
