Earlier this week, Sega actually showed some of Yakuza 5’s additional activities in action. Most notably, Kazuma drove a taxi, his new job in this installment, played some Taiko no Tatsujin, and raced some chickens. Today, Sega continued the offering examples of non-violent activities with screenshots showing Shun posing for purikura photo sticker booths, Haruka’s idol activity minigames, Taiga fishing, and Tatsuo bowling.
While Haruka’s past-times in Yakuza 5 tend to focus on her hopes of becoming famous, as shown by screenshots where she’s greeting fans or dancing, the other characters have more varied experiences. Heading out into the great outdoors is an option, as Taiga is shown catching a fish and one of the characters offers a first person perspective as he hunts a bear. Staying in is equally important, as people can visit a lounge to play some pool or darts, or even stop in a bowling alley. Arcades offer multiple activities too, with people able to play the aforementioned Taiko no Tatsujin at a recreation of the machines, take pictures at a photo booth, or attempt to win Sega-themed prizes from a grabbing machine.
Yakuza 5 still doesn’t have a release date yet. However, Sega is hoping to bring it to the PlayStation 3 in November. It will be a PlayStation Store exclusive.
