Teddy Together is a simulation game where players help raise a teddy bear that’s been dropped on their doorstep. (Or, rather, in their Nintendo 3DS.) Ahead of its European launch, a new trailer has been released that showcases all of the activities a player can enjoy with their new friend. It also provides an opportunity to hear Teddy “speak” in English or the first time.
In Teddy Together, Teddy will actually talk to the player. Vocaloid software allows to say words and phrases, offering commentary on actions and making requests of the caretaker. As an example, Teddy mentions the onions sting its eyes, comments on how well a meal tasted, and expresses a genuine interest in the player’s life.
The trailer also goes over the activities players can enjoy with Teddy. It’s possible to cook meals for the bear, give it baths, help it raise a garden, purchase clothing and accessories, and teach it about yourself and your life. The amiibo compatibility is highlighted as well, with the video showing how scanning a “lucky” amiibo can give you 1,000 coins and rewards like a new Teddy color scheme.
Teddy Together will come to the Nintendo 3DS in Europe on July 1, 2016. It’s immediately available in Japan as Kuma Tomo. A North American release has yet to be announced.
