Durarara!! and Baccano! creator Ryogo Narita and tri-Ace are working together on a new smartphone action RPG called Heaven x Inferno, this week’s issue of Famitsu announced. [Thanks, Hachima.]
The game is a smartphone RPG that is being written by Ryogo Narita and music by Yuzo Koshiro. The story takes place in a world where only humans are around, as angels and demons vanished after a thousand-year war between God and the demons.
The world is split between the three worlds of the heavens of “Aura,” the human realm of “Terra Septem,” the netherworld Gehenna. The gameplay revolves around blasting enemies off the heavens, knocking them down in the netherworld. The enemy strength changes according to the hierarchy of the netherworld, human realm, and heaven.
There will be automatic effects that are displayed and always varied, so it’ll bring a fun and strategic element to the game.
Heaven X Inferno will release in Japan in spring 2016 for Android and iPhone. It’ll be free-to-play with premium items purchasable with cash. The game will be available by NTT DoCoMo, but will be available to play through other carriers.
