Hellbreaker will have players using a powerful, demon-slaying claw to execute leaping, slashing combos, carving up their foes as they steadily climb up and out of hell’s pits.
Hellbreaker casts players as Arok, a man with a strange claw that lets him kill demons. Using this, players can lash out at the hellish forces they come across in the randomly-generated ascent, chaining together spinning attacks that will let them gain some extra height. Using combos, players can rip through enemies and gain extra height on their climb, or they can just use Arok’s climbing and grabbing powers to scale the walls on their way out.
Heavy metal tunes will accompany the game’s mayhem, carrying the player forward on guitar riffs. These tunes will follow the player through the bug-filled pits of Beelzebub, the fiery chambers of hell, and several other visions of the underworld. As they climb through each one, they will also power up various talents that will give them an edge against the demons and bosses that wait to throw them back down into the pit.
Hellbreaker is currently in development, and interested players can follow its creation on the game’s site.
