Xueyi is a 4-star Quantum Destruction character who debuted in Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.6, though her Ascension Materials are all from previous patches. She has the distinction of being one of the first characters in the game to take the new Trace Material, Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster.

You can also get Extinguished Cores from Assignments, which you can then Synthesize into higher-level material. As for Nail of the Ape, it’s a drop from Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Abomination. You can access this enemy from the Scalegorge Waterscape on the Xianzhou Luofu.
In total, you’ll need to set aside 12 Extinguished Cores, 13 Glimmering Cores, 12 Squirming Cores, 50 Nails of the Ape, and 248,400 Credits.
How to Level Up Traces For Xueyi in Honkai: Star Rail
To fully upgrade a Trace for Xueyi (barring her Basic Attack), you will need:
- 21 Extinguished Cores.
- 2 Shattered Blades.
- 12 Lifeless Blades.
- 23 Worldbreaker Blades.
- 3 Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster.
- 1 Tracks of Destiny.
- 522,000 Credits.
You can get Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster from the new Echo of War, Borehole Planet’s Old Crater. This Echo of War is available in the Seclusion Zone on the Herta Space Station. To access it, you must first complete the Trailblaze Continuance, “Crown of the Mundane and Divine.”
When choosing to level up Traces for Xueyi, you should prioritize her Talent first. Though she is a Destruction character, most of her utility and damage comes from her follow-up attacks. You can level up her Skill and Ultimate in tandem.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Xueyi will always be available in Honkai: Star Rail due to her being a 4-star character.
