The official Japanese Fire Emblem social media account provided some details about the five weapon types that will be in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. It also shared some information on how magic will work in the game. The post implied that weapons will not have any durability restrictions in this title.
The five types of weapons in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave are Swords, Lances, Axes, Bows, and Gauntlets. Which weapons a character can wield depend on what class they’re belong to in the game. For example, Hunters can use Swords and Bows, while Soldiers can use Swords, Lances, and Axes. The weapon types are the same as in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This makes sense, as Fortune’s Weave takes place in the same world and timeline as that installment.
A reply to this social media post added that classes with magical affinity can attack with magic instead of using weapons. However, unlike weapons, there is a limit on how many times you can use magic. This implies that normal use of weapons will not cost any durability in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. In the video for Leda, we can see that her pre-combat menu does not have numbers next to her weapons, which backs this up. However, in Dietrich’s video, we can see that using Combat Arts will involve durability, so it seems there will still be some resource management there.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will come out on September 17, 2026 for the Switch 2.
