Here’s How to Fight Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Puppetry in Honkai: Star Rail

As of Version 1.3 of Honkai: Star Rail, a new Stagnant Shadow boss, Shape of Puppetry, is available to fight. The Shape of Puppetry, which is an Aurumaton Gatekeeper, drops Suppressing Edicts. You can use this to upgrade Imaginary characters such as Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae.

Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Puppetry is in the Artisanship Commission. You must first unlock the area, clear the Stagnant Shadow mission, and interact with the Stagnant Shadow in order to use it as a teleport point. Since the Aurumaton Gatekeeper is an enemy that has been around for a while, most players are likely familiar with its tactics.

The Aurumatun Gatekeeper is weak to Lightning, Wind, and Quantum. The Entranced Ingenium – Illumination Dragonfish that’s with it are weak to Physical, Lightning, and Imaginary. Since they explode after you defeat them and cause splash damage, you can use them to help chip away at the Aurumatun Gatekeeper’s HP.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the Aurumatun Gatekeeper can Imprison your characters after it enters Sanction Mode. This is fairly annoying, though unlike Freeze, it won’t eat up a turn when it wears off. If you’re really sick of it, you can try using a character like March or Fire Trailblazer to have the Aurumatun Gatekeeper focus on a Preservation character. That’ll prevent it from locking up your attackers or healers.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PC. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development. The Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Puppetry boss is a permanent fixture of Honkai: Star Rail.
