Tomy just released Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja 3 Revolution in North America. It’s a fighting game, like Tomy’s other console Naruto games, starring the older Shippuden cast (including Sasuke) and for the first time adds online play.
Usually, Tomy releases a comparable fighting game in Japan, but not this year. They made Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Sword Chronicles, an action game where Naruto, equipped with a blazing sword, fights dragons. Take a look at a gameplay trailer to get a feel for it.
Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Sword Chronicles deviates from Tomy’s typical Naruto formula and Famitsu didn’t like the changes. The game scored a 7/7/5/5 for a total of 24 out of 40. Critics that rated the game a five said the graphics had jaggies during event scenes and parts are repetitive. Famitsu scores are only opinions, but they have to make you think — “hey, maybe we got the better game this year.”
