Hey! Pikmin Shows How Olimar Directs Pikmin On Two Screens

Hey! Pikmin is a Pikmin spin-off for the Nintendo 3DS that places Olimar in a 2.5D world that spans two screens. He has to travel through environments, tossing and recalling his Pikmin friends as they attempt to complete objectives in each area. In a new video from GameXplain, we get to see Olimar work above ground, underground, and underwater with his friends.

The ten minutes of Hey! Pikmin footage begins with Olimar and some red Pikmin wandering the grounds near a forested area. In one instance, he needs to toss them to create a makeshift bridge, using his whistle to get some additional characters at the very top of the screen to come down and bring more parts with them. The group also forces a trowel to fall and defeats an enemy. As the journey continues, we see Olimar and a group of yellow Pikmin explore what seems to be a cave, then Olimar and blue Pikmin swimming through a lake.

Hey! Pikmin will come to the Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe on July 28, 2017. It will arrive in Japan on July 13, 2017.
