Agetec quietly released the sequel to Disaster Report (aka Zettaizetsumei Toshi 2) in stores last week under a much more western friendly name, Raw Danger. The premise of Raw Danger is similar to Disaster Report, except you are trying to survive the aftermath of a Tsunami instead of an Earthquake. Yeah, Raw Danger looks like a B-rated video game and the voice acting doesn’t help shake that image either. However there is a unique experience contained in the Irem's disaster survival game and the New York Times nails it when they say:
“In this game, each character’s actions affect the journey of at least one other character. If a man asks for your help and you refuse, you may find yourself later playing that man and having to solve a problem on your own. Choose a path that causes something to collapse and another character will have one avenue of escape cut off. Raw Danger illustrates that every decision can have consequences for others.”
If you can look past the low production values and the eerie Aryan cast Raw Danger is worth checking out. Also it’s only $14.99 @ Amazon way less than the price Zettaizetsumei Toshi 2 sold for in Japan and it is the quarter of the cost of Bullet Witch.
