Himouto! Umaru-chan’s anime recently ended, but until they announce a new season, fans can get their himouto fix this December when Himouto! Umaru-chan: Himouto Upbringing Project releases for PlayStation Vita. Here’s a look at the latest trailer for the game.
In Umaru’s self-proclaimed GOTY title, you’ll play as her older brother Taihei who gets worried about his sister’s “himouto” ways and how she’s been a lazy slob, so he decides to take away all of her belongings.
He’ll give them back to her as she completes simple tasks to better her life, and he’ll even reward her with gifts for completing them. As you advance, you’ll level up Umaru and increase her parameters.
The game is split between a visual novel-style story mode, where you’ll get to make choices that affect the story paths and ending. The game has its plenty of original scenes that are determined by the choices you make and how Umaru is raised. The scenes are also voiced by the VAs of the anime.
The Umaru raising parts are kind of like a virtual pet, where Umaru is in her himouto mode with a bunch of items scattered around the room. You’ll get to play with Umaru, help her complete tasks, and even pet her.
Himouto! Umaru-chan: Himouto Upbringing Project will release in Japan in winter 2015 for PlayStation Vita.
