Can you believe GameStop is credited for making a console game? The retailer partnered with Square Enix to create Hitman: Sniper Challenge. It’s not exactly a brand new game, but it is a standalone Hitman mission where players compete to be the best sniper.

Armed with a sniper rifle, Agent 47 sits on a balcony waiting for Stallion Armaments CEO Richard Strong Jr. to enter his scope. Your mission is to assassinate Strong and all of his bodyguards. Hitman: Sniper Challenge sounds like a score attack mode since players can find score multipliers and unlock bonus equipment.

An online leaderboard will keep track of the top players and Square Enix will award skilled snipers with monthly prizes. The grand prize for the top sniper of all time is a trip for two to Copenhagen, Denmark to meet developer IO Interactive and get their likeness incorporated into the next Hitman game.

Items earned in Hitman: Sniper Challenge, including the Kazo TRG sniper rifle, can be carried over into Hitman: Absolution.

Hitman: Sniper Challenge will be available as a PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade download on May 15 if you pre-order Hitman: Absolution from GameStop. The PC version will be online on August 1 and accessible through Steam.
