Hitogotchi, A Game In Which You’re The Tamagotchi For Once

Recommended Videos

You’ve played with a Tamagotchi, right? The lo-fi, handheld digital pet game? Well, if you remember how annoying and needy that pet can be, you might relish the chance to turn the tables.

Hitogotchi is a “reversed Tamagotchi,” by which the creator means you play as the digital pet and have someone looking after you. The idea is to nag them for the stuff you need. There’s also a dialog system so you can have a chat, too.

It was made for a recent-ish Ludum Dare game jam but, more recently, has been updated with new art, correct Japanese, and some bug fixes.

If you want to give it a go, you can download Hitogotchi for free over on itch.io. It’s available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
