Team Cherry updated the Kickstarter page to cover the distribution of Hollow Knight: Silksong keys, and those who supported it will only be able to choose from Switch, Switch 2, and PC copies of the game. As a reminder, when the game launches on September 4, 2025, it will be available on multiple platforms. PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X are also among them.
The developer didn’t explain why there is the limitation in terms of which Hollow Knight: Silksong Kickstarter game keys are available. The message only noted that it will begin contacting people. When they do, people will either get a Switch & Switch 2 copy or a Steam or DRM-free PC code. The game will be on GOG, Humble, and Steam, so it’s unknown the exact source of the DRM-free copy.
The official site for the game is live with new information too. It confirmed the Hallownest princess Hornet is in a whole new environment as Hollow Knight: Silksong begins. Someone abducted her. Now, she’ll not only need to discover what is going on, but also save this additional kingdom and its innocent people. This also confirmed Christopher Larkin is the composer and involved a soundtrack preview.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on September 4, 2025, though Kickstarter backers can only select Switch, Switch 2, or PC keys for the game.
