In Murasaki Shion’s post, she mentioned that she will be completing some work that has already been pre-determined for her. She will complete what is currently on her schedule at this time, and then refrain from making any more content for the foreseeable future.

An explicit reason for this hiatus was not stated by Cover or Shion, but she did mention that she hopes to meet with fans again once she returns to feeling her best. She also included that it would make her the most happy if her fans didn’t worry too much and waited patiently for her return.

And here’s the message from and Murasaki Shion herself:

Many of Hololive’s other VTuber talents, such as Akai Haato, Inugami Korone, and Sakura Miko, replied to Murasaki Shion’s decision with support, reassuring her that they will be waiting for her.

Starting December 21, 2023, Murasaki Shion will be on an indefinite hiatus from her Vtuber activities.
