Sega is also porting House of the Dead 4 to PlayStation 3, a job that took almost a year to complete. The PS3 version turns the PlayStation Move wand into a gun. Press the trigger to fire and just like in the arcade version you shake to reload. House of the Dead 4 gives players a machine gun so you can spray the screen with bullets. If zombies get too close you have to shake them off before otherwise they push you over, forcing you to fight on the ground. The demo had the first stage of the game, but stopped before the boss fight with Justice.
House of the Dead 4 can also be played with a DualShock 3, but that wasn’t available to try. The game isn’t compatible with the Guncon controller. The only nitpick about the conversion is some of the pre-recorded videos such as the shake to reload clip are grainy compared to the other graphics. Otherwise House of the Dead 4 for PS3 is essentially House of the Dead 4 at home.
The only difference is a Sega representative said some features from House of the Dead 4 Special will be incorporated into House of the Dead 4 for PS3. House of the Dead 4 Special is kind of like a ride where two players strap into a seat to shoot zombies. If you get hit the game blasts air in your face and the seat spins around so you alternate shooting zombies in front and behind. Of course, House of the Dead 4 for PS3 won’t support a chair controller, but Special has a remixed level with G in it. The "compatibility meter" seen in other games like Let’s Go Jungle is pretty amusing too. You can read more about House of the Dead 4 Special here.
House of the Dead 4 will be sold as a PlayStation Network download this spring.
