How Combat In Heroes Fantasia, Namco Bandai’s Anime Crossover RPG, Works

Namco Bandai, through their Banpresto label, have a crossover anime RPG in the works. Heroes Fantasia includes characters from Darker than Black, Orphen, s.CRY.ed, Blood +, R.O.D. Read or Die and other series (see the full list here).

The story takes place in Japan where the real world where a crisis threatens the world of Adoroas. Somehow all of these anime characters come together.

 

You can have four of them in a party at any time. In battle, each button (square, triangle, circle, and X) is assigned to a different character. You can switch formations and bring out a different group of characters in the middle of battle with the D-pad. Combat in Heroes Fantasia is turn based. It appears there is a pool of action points shared between the four characters and each attack drains a different amount of energy.

 

Conversations in Heroes Fantasia are told like manga pages with cartoon bubbles and a variety of facial expressions.

 

Heroes Fantasia is slated for release this winter on PSP. Development is 60% complete.
