Crafted items in Baldur’s Gate 3, while relatively limited, can be extremely useful. One such item is the Elixir of Arcane Cultivation. While not entirely necessary for certain combat encounters, it can make or break battles in Tactician Difficulty. Additionally, since it can provide one extra level one spell slot, it will allow you to fling one more cast of Magic Missile if the situation allows. This guide outlines what you need to craft the Elixir of Arcane Cultivation in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Create an Elixir of Arcane Cultivation in Baldur’s Gate 3
Only two ingredients are needed to create an Elixir of Arcane Cultivation: Vitriol of Weavemoss and Sublimate. Thankfully, any Sublimate can be used to craft the Elixir of Arcane Cultivation, but Vitriol of Weavemoss is harder to come by. It’s base ingredient, Weavemoss can be found as early as the Arcane Tower, which is an optional area in the Underdark. This crafting component can be found by the Sussur Tree, it’s blossoms important to solve one of several puzzles in the Arcane Tower. Keep in mind you will need a total of three Weavemoss to create the Vitriol of Weavemoss, however.
Upon obtaining Weavemoss you will need to extract it in order to unlock the recipe for Vitriol of Weavemoss and for the Elixir of Arcane Cultivation. Once this is done and you have the required ingredients, which is one Sublimate and one Vitriol of Weavemoss, you can craft this invaluable Elixir. Now, what it does is provide you with an additional level one spell slot. This is great in the early hours of the game, as it will provide you with the chance to cast even more Magic Missiles.
