How do Siren Isle Excavations Work in World of Warcraft?

Certain bosses on Siren Isle will require players to excavate their lairs before you can slay and loot them, with rewards including new Citrines for Cyrce’s Circlet. Supporting an excavation will be something of a community event, too, so here’s everything you need to know about Siren Isle Excavations in World of Warcraft.

What are Siren Isle Excavations in WoW

Excavations are a returning mechanic where players across an instance can contribute to opening up lairs that contain boss enemies with weekly rewards for slaying them. As well as Citrines for Cyrce’s Circlet, these bosses also drop a good amount of Flame-Blessed Iron. You can check what weekly reward a boss offers by mousing over its icon on the map while active, or at the command table at the main camp.

There are currently three Excavations available, each with their own boss. These are the Drain, the Shuddering Hollow, and the Drowned lair. These bosses are not available during the island’s Storm phase, however, so if you want to fight them you’ll need to return to the normal version.

How to Contribute to Siren Isle Excavations in WoW

Contributing to an excavation is as simple as using the table in the main camp on Siren Isle and clicking which one to support. Each contribution costs 5 Flame-Blessed Iron and adds a little over 3% to the gauge so filling it will require around 30 contributions and 150 Flame-Blessed Iron total from you and players within your instance. Once the gauge is filled a 3 minute countdown starts until the lair opens up. Each active cave will be marked on your map and shows the current timer on mouse-over, as well as the weekly reward for that excavation. Head on over with a group of other players and take down the boss for a chance at rewards.
