How to Change Seasons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

There are four seasons as you might expect: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. These seasons will change naturally on their own as the time passes in the world. As such, if you don’t want to deal with this system, you don’t have to and you will naturally progress through the four seasons as time goes on.

But if you would like to manipulate the weather and seasons a bit and change them, there is a way to do that. You see, completing quests, switching between Yasuke and Naoe, and even fast traveling will move the seasonal bar on the map bit by bit. So, you can do this over and over to switch to the next season much more quickly.

What Changing Seasons Does

There are quite a few reasons why you would want to change the seasons often in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. For one, if you are currently Wanted, this is the best way to get rid of this particular status and free yourself. In addition, the locations and some content will change. For instance, some paintings of animals you can do in the world are only available in certain seasons.

Perhaps most importantly, though, changing seasons is the most reliable and cheapest way to refresh your scouts. Scouts are so vital to finding the locations of quest markers, NPCs, and even assassination targets, so this is the reason I recommend you switch seasons often.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available right now for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
