How do I complete the “A New Signature Food” quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

If you’ve spoken to Reede in Hateno Village after accepting the “Team Cece or Team Reede?” side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, he will have tasked you with finding a specific food for him.

You only know that his grandfather worked with “someone from the village” to create it. That person is Koyin. Speak to her at night next to the pond at the pasture on the east side of Hateno Village, where she’ll ask for help retrieving a message in a bottle from the pond. This kicks off the “A Letter to Koyin” side quest.

Unfortunately, you can’t reach the bottle using Link’s Ultrahand ability alone, so I used an axe on the nearby trees to create a raft. Once I got close enough, that’s when I whipped out Ultrahand and fished out the bottle.

Give Koyin the bottle, which contains a recipe. Meet her at her house, and she’ll reveal that the recipe is for Hateno Cheese. She will give you some, and she’ll open up the Hateno Cheese Shop, where you can either buy Hateno Cheese for 20 Rupees each or trade her a Bottle of Milk for one.

Return to Reede, and he’ll smell the cheese on you before you can hand it to him. This was the mysterious food he was waiting for! You’ll get 100 Rupees for your trouble.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch. While you’re in Hateno Village, why not learn how to dye Link’s clothes?
