How to Complete “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn” in Honkai: Star Rail

In Honkai: Star Rail, the “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn” is the final quest you have to complete before you finish the Penacony chapter in the story. As a quest with no dialogue options, as well as a single boss fight, it’s quite easy to clear so long as you follow the on-screen prompts.

There are six missions in total that you have to finish to complete “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn” in Honkai: Star Rail. They are:

1. All Who Wakes
2. The Departed Will Return First
3. A Misfortune of Survivors
4. Reality is But Dream’s Echo
5. Sound of Farewell Hums Reunion
6. Bow Out At Moment of Debut

These quests lack dialogue options that might alter the outcome of the story or let you see different character interactions. So when you’re playing through this, just follow the instructions the game gives you and go to the quest marker on the map. However, this quest line features two missions that you warrant special attention.

In “A Misfortune of Survivors,” you need to talk to all the different Tingyuns walking around the yellow circle on the map. Once you do so, Tingyun (?) will approach you and start a cutscene. As you play through the quest, you’ll get the chance to play a trial version of Fugue, which will give you an idea of her kit prior to her playable debut in the second half of this patch.

In “Bow Out At Moment of Debut,” you face an easier version of the Echo of War: Salutation of Ashen Dreams boss. It only has two HP bars to break, and you won’t be able to use the Astral Express like in the weekly boss version of this fight. You should bring Fire, Lightning, and Imaginary characters to break his Toughness as quickly as possible so that you can gain a shield and protect yourself against his attacks. At the end of this boss, you’ll watch a cutscene and then the quest will end. After you finish this quest line, Sunday will temporarily join the Astral Express. You can find him hanging out at the back of the Party Car.
