How to Complete In From the Cold in FFXIV Endwalker

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has a lot of surprising twists, but one of the most unique parts has to do with the massive and lengthy main scenario quest, “In From the Cold.” The FFXIV Endwalker In From the Cold Main Scenario Quest takes place in Garlemald and has some of the most unique gameplay objectives.

The bulk of this particular quest comes from the point in which the player takes control of the “unknown imperial soldier” during a long instanced sequence. There is a lot you need to do during this time, including dealing with the rough fights here. You aren’t powerful anymore, so you have to rely on buffs like Fight or Flight and Rampart during battles.

In general, though, you want to avoid as many fights as you possibly can and run around when possible. This is because your health will not come back outside of fights. You need to find medkits from other fallen soldiers to replenish HP.

With all of those tips in mind, here are the objectives you must complete in FFXIV Endwalker In From the Cold if you want to finish this solo instance and keep going in the main story:

• Defeat the first soldier you come across
• Loot their body for a medkit
• Interact with the corpse again to pay respects
• Find the inactive Magitek Reaper around X: 23.7, Y: 16.9 and interact with it
• Find the body in the building just northwest of you and loot it for the keys
• Get the fuel tank from around X: 27.4, Y: 13.3 and carefully carry it to the Magitek device
• Use the Magitek Reaper to fend off waves of enemies near the area’s exit
• Get off the Magitek Reaper and carefully avoid the two soldiers ahead
• Take out all the monsters the game tells you to eliminate
• Fend off more waves of soldiers while avoiding AOEs in the final area (remember to use your medkits!)
• Mash the keyboard or controller button to regain consciousness
• Crawl your way to Camp Broken Glass to complete the instanced duty
