How to Complete the ‘Horse Drawn Dreams’ Sidequest in Tears of the Kingdom

Not long after leaving Central Hyrule, you may find yourself heading to the Rito village. If you do, you’ll happen upon your first stable in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as well as an opportunity to take on a “Horse Drawn Dreams” sidequest. This could end up being your first opportunity to catch a horse in the game. (It ended up being mine.) However, you do have to walk a little bit to find a herd of horses to get one to help Zumi out.

First, talk to Zumi. If you do something like automatically use Ultrahand to attach the wheels near the stable to her cart with missing wheels, she’ll actually get upset and yell at you. (This happened to me.) She’ll tell you she needs a horse and repaired cart. From here, you need to actually get a horse for her. Fortunately, some are right nearby basically every stable in the game. So when I did the quest, three were wandering around the Zonai geoglyph I just needed to examine for the “Impa and the Geoglyphs” mission. To catch one, you need to crouch by pressing the left analog stick (L3). Slowly walk up behind it, then press A the second the “Mount” option appears. Then, continually press the L trigger to soothe the horse.

Once you gain a measure of control, lead it back to New Serenne Stable and talk to Zumi. She’ll be standing outside the stable. Just walk up while on the horse and press ZR and A at the same time. You can then give her the horse.

From there, you need to use Ultrahand to attach two wheels, which are right next to the stable to the left of the entrance, to the cart. Once you do that, Zumi will recognize that her cart is working. She’ll attach a harness and you’ll get 100 Rupees as a reward.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
