Lego Fortnite is all about finding resources to make better items that let you find better resources to make even better items. One of the major leaps you’ll make in your progress is finding gemstones. With Gemstones, you can craft powerful charms, better tools and weapons, and certain stations vehicles. Cut Amber is likely going to be the first gemstone you’ll need to progress. Before you can cut it, however, you’ll need Rough Amber, and that’s going to take some work. Here’s how to cut amber in Lego Fortnite, and how to get rough amber in Lego Fortnite.
How to Get Rough Amber in Lego Fortnite
You can find Rough Amber in the Dry Valley biome. Once you find the biome, look for the tall, rocky spires scattered across the map. These are Dry Valley’s mesas, and the Amber deposits can be found growing out of the sides and on top of them. You’ll need at least an Uncommon Pickaxe to break the deposit apart. You can always build some stairs up to the amber, but if you have a glider handy, there should be some nearby geysers you can use to thrust yourself upward. Conveniently, obtaining rough amber will unlock the Gem Cutter recipe, the station you need to cut it! To make the gem cutter, you need the following ingredients:
- 20 Marble Slab
- 5 Rough Amber
- 5 Sand Claws
- 3 Sand Shells
Marble Slabs can be made from Marble, found in Grasslands caves. The last two ingredients can be found by defeating wolves and rollers in the Dry Valley- how convenient! You’re already there.
Interact with your constructed gem cutter and select the Cut Amber option. Let the station do its thing, and soon enough you’ll have some cut amber to make new items with! Immediately build a Rare Forest Axe to get access to higher-value wood, and a Rare Health Charm for the health boost. You can use Cut Amber for a multitude of things, including the Bowcaster.
