How to hit an opponent with Wings of Icarus Dive Bomb attack in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is here, and the latest update brings Greek mythology to the battle royale by featuring gods such as Zeus, Medusa, Ares, Aphrodite, Hades, and more. One of the game’s newest features is the Wings of Icarus item, which allows players to fly into the sky with the click of a button. The mythical wings are also tied to one of the season’s latest challenges.
In the Kickstart Quest, “Hit an opponent with Wings of Icarus Dive Bomb attack,” you must use the new item to damage an opponent during a match. This is easier said than done, however, as the item needs to be used in a specific way. Below are the steps you need to take to perform the Wings of Icarus Dive Bomb attack in Fortnite.
- Find the Wings of Icarus item in a chest or by killing a player that has one in their inventory.
- After picking up the Epic-tier item, select it as a weapon to equip it on your back.
- Press “R2” or “RT” to fly straight up into the air with the Wings of Icarus.
- While flying in the air, press “L2” or “LT” to aim your reticle at an opponent, and then release the button to dive bomb them.
- You need to land close enough to an opponent to damage them to complete this Kickstart Quest.
The first step is finding the Wings of Icarus item during a Fortnite match. As mentioned above, they can be found in any random chest across the map. They can also be found by killing another player who has it in their inventory. Walk over the item to pick it up.
After you pick up the Wings of Icarus, select them as your weapon to equip it on your back. Next, press “R2” or “RT” to launch yourself into the sky. If you want to remain in the air a little longer, you can press “X” or “A” as well to ascend further.
While you are flying in the air, you will need to press “L2” or “LT” to aim with your reticle. You should see a giant red circle on the ground. Look for an opponent below you and line up this circle on top of them. When your aim is perfect, release L2 / LT to do the Wings of Icarus Dive Bomb attack in Fortnite. Your character will then hurl themselves into the ground.
The Dive Bomb attack is pretty quick, so you don’t have a lot of time to adjust your aim as you are slamming into the ground. However, you don’t need to kill an opponent to complete this Kickstart Quest. You just need to land close enough that you damage their health.
Where to Find Wings of Icarus Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 – locations
In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, the Wings of Icarus can be randomly found in any golden chest across the map or show up as an overworld spawn. However, there are five new locations that were added in Season 2 that have a good chance of spawning them. Here is a list of locations where you can find the Wings of Icarus in Fortnite:
- The Underworld.
- Grim Gate.
- Mount Olympus.
- Brawler’s Battleground.
Completing the “hit an opponent with Wings of Icarus Dive Bomb attack” Kickstart Quest will net you 10,000 XP for your Battle Pass.
