How Forgery Works in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Ever wanted to keep a quest reward for yourself or perhaps prevent some NPC from suffering some great tragedy because of an item they covet? Well, item duplication can save you heartache and net you some decent rewards. However, players can only duplicate an item at one location in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and that’s in Rest Town.

Called “Forgery”, the mechanic allows players to hand over an item to the Rest Town Scrap Store, where the NPC will duplicate a fake version of of the item for a small price. The forgeries feature is actually first introduced during the “Hunt for the Jadeite Orb” storyline in Rest Town. For a deeper breakdown of that, check out our How to Get Jadeite Orb in Dragon’s Dogma 2 guide.

Where to Duplicate Items in Dragon’s Dogma 2

From Vernworth players can make their way to Rest Town by using the oxcart on the west side of the map. You can always walk there yourself, but given how large Dragon’s Dogma 2 is and how many monsters could assail you on the way, it could take upwards of an hour. After you’ve made your way to Rest Town, look for Ibrahim’s Scrap Store, which shows up on your map as a Paper and Quill icon.

Ibrahim’s Scrap Store is a bit hard to find at first, as it’s in the back of Rest Town tucked away in a corner. However, if you can’t find the icon on your map, the Scrap Store is located directly behind the Vocation Guild and Inn. For your convenience, though, I’ve also provided a map below that shows the exact location of where you can duplicate items in Dragon’s Dogma 2:

For a simple fee the NPC will duplicate items for you, allowing you to keep the quest item for yourself, or as mentioned previously, save NPCs from themselves. It does take time for the NPC to duplicate items. My suggestion is to rest at the inn if you want to create a hard save after sending in your request, or just plopping down on a bench to doze off and pass some time.

Once two or three days have passed, you can then pick up your item and give it to the NPC. Keep in mind duplicating items will cost money. And this will depend on the item itself. The most prized the item, the most costly it will be to duplicate. So make sure you have a decent amount of coins saved up before heading to the Scrap Store.
