It can’t be evolved using regular means like leveling or by using an Evolution Stone. Here’s how to evolve Gurdurr in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How do I evolve Gurdurr into Conkeldurr in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

The only way to evolve Gurdurr into Conkeldurr in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is to trade it. Once you’ve traded it, it will evolve on the recipient’s end, and they’ll have to trade it back to you unless you traded for another Gurdurr, in which case, it will also evolve into Conkeldurr for you.

There’s no specific level that your Gurdurr must be before trading for it to evolve, so you can trade it for Conkeldurr whenever you’d like, which will likely be level 25, as this is when Timburr evolves into Gurdurr.

Is there a Gurdurr trade code in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Yes! If you don’t have a friend to trade with, you can use a specific trade code set up by Pokemon YouTuber Austin John Plays. To do this, press X to open the main menu, click on “Poke Portal,” then select “Link Trade.” Set your Link Code to “0533-0533.” This will match you with another player looking to trade Gurdurr. If your trading partner offers anything other than a Gurdurr, back out and try again. I did this method, and it took about 15 seconds to find another player to trade with.

Once you’ve received the other player’s Gurdurr, it will automatically evolve into Conkeldurr. If you have an attachment to the specific Gurdurr you sent off, you can try sending your trading partner’s Gurdurr back to them before they back out, but because you can’t communicate, there’s no guarantee they’ll accept.

How do I get a Gurdurr in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

If you don’t have a Gurdurr to trade for a Conkeldurr in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you can get one via the following four methods:

• Trading (either Link Trade or Surprise Trade if you’re lucky enough).
• Catching one in the wild.
• In a Tera Raid Battle.
• Evolving it from Timburr.

To catch a Gurdurr yourself, you must own The Teal Mask DLC, as it only appears in the wild on the Kitakami map. Gurdurr is an uncommon spawn in Mossfell Confluence, southeast of Mossui Town.

Alternatively, you can evolve Timburr into Gurdurr at level 25. If you don’t have a Timburr, you’ll either need to trade for one or catch one in the wild in The Teal Mask DLC. The best place to catch a Timburr in Kitakami is in Paradise Barrens.

Can I get a Conkeldurr without trading in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

You can, but it comes down to luck. Conkeldurr can appear as a 5-star Tera Raid on the Kitakami map, though this is a random spawn and a rare one at that. You can also check the Tera Raid Battle section of the Poke Portal often to see if another player has posted their Conkeldurr Tera Raid, though I’ve found that the quickest and easiest way to guarantee a Conkeldurr is by trading a Gurdurr using a trade code.
