Generation 5 Pokemon fans are getting quite the love in the Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC, with Pokemon like Sewaddle, Swadloon, and Leavanny returning. The Sewaddle line is one of the cutest lines from that generation and they are back in 3D, allowing players to catch them all over again. However, you may run into some slight hiccups if you want to evolve Swadloon into Leavanny.

Where to Catch Swadloon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Before you can evolve Swadloon into Leavanny or capture the final evolution, there is the traditional route you should consider to start working toward the characters. This is to catch either a Sewaddle or Swadloon, both of which can be commonly found in The Teal Mask DLC. You can usually find them in the field east and southeast of Mossui Town in Kitakami, near the riverbanks. Sewaddle might actually end up being one of the first Pokemon you run into in the new area, as they’re around the road and bus stop where your journey in the add-on begins.
If you catch a Sewaddle, you can evolve it into Swadloon at level 20. From that point, you can then consider evolving it into its final evolution of Leavanny.
How to Evolve Swadloon into Leavanny in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
When it comes to Leavanny, there are actually two ways to get this Bug and Grass-type Pokemon in The Teal Mask. The first is to evolve a Swadloon into Leavanny. To do this, though, you have to get a Friendship rating of 220 or higher with Swadloon, then level it up once to evolve it. You can raise Friendship by walking around with your Pokemon, battling with it, giving it certain berries, and other items.
However, the main problem with this method is how time-consuming it is. There is a much quicker, hidden method to find and capture a Leavanny. This is through Tera raid battles, which Leavanny can randomly appear in. This Pokemon only appears in 4 and 6-star raids, so it can be an RNG-focused method, but a much more straightforward way to catch this Pokemon.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC, The Teal Mask, is available now on Nintendo Switch. The Indigo Disk is coming in Winter 2023.
