How to Fast Travel in Monster Hunter Wilds

While you can hop on a Seikret’s back in Monster Hunter Wilds and often have it speedily take you to your next designated quest location or hunt, it’s also possible to actually immediately teleport and fast travel too. The option opens up quite quickly as well, making it easy to visit every territory in the game without a lot of backtracking.

How do I fast travel in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Fast traveling comes up after you get through the first few Chapter 1 tutorial quests. Once you found your footing around the Plains, right about when you also get access to the Forest, you’ll be able to bring up the map and select notable points. Say you select your Base Camp, a Pop Up Camp, or one of the notable village locations like Azuz, the Everforge, or the Wubwub home in the Forest. There will then be a note saying you can fast travel there by highlighting it and pressing the confirm button.

There’s a handy feature you can access via the Area and World Maps too. First, bring up the map. When on the local map, chose to bring up the Environmental Overview. It will let you immediately select where certain monsters are, and in so doing start up a Field Survey quest or investigation, or see if there’s a sidequest nearby. Doing this on the World Map screen allows you to see which monsters are currently around without fast traveling there.

How do I fast travel to endgame locations in the campaign and postgame?

So once you finish Chapter 3 in Monster Hunter Wilds and watch the credits roll, you’ll find yourself back in the Plains base camp. You’ll learn that Fabius is now heading to the Forbidden Lands. While you were able to head to Wyveria at the end of Chapter 3, you need to actually raise your Hunter Rank to unlock the ability to head back there and go to the new Wounded Hollow arena space. However, by the time you reach HR 20, you’ll be able to unlock both areas for fast traveling.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
