I loved the Lala Barina when I played Monster Hunter Wilds ahead of launch, and that carried over to the full game thanks to a handy weapon with a paralysis effect and cool attire.
Where do I find the Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds?
The Lala Barina is the first monster you’ll hunt once you unlock access to the Forest in Monster Hunter Wilds. Basically, you’ll wander down the river until you meet one. As you can expect, this means you’ll primarily find the Lala Barina in the Forest, in particular in the nest you’ll encounter it during the campaign quest, both during the main and post game.
It comes up rather often as a campaign opponent. So you’ll find it during mainline quests, and not always in the Forest. Still, that’s the best place. Though if you need an instant encounter, the Optional Quest “Every Rose…” sends you after one.
How do I beat a Lala Barina?
There are two things to worry about when facing a Lala Barina. The first is that it is incredibly agile. It will leap around a lot, as well as swing, so be ready to dodge. The other is that it will send out florets that will paralyze you. However, that’s only an issue as long as the “rose” on its backside is in “bloom” and isn’t broken. These florets are also very visible after being sent off, so you can easily walk or run around them. So target the stinger tail and petals when visible.
As you can expect from a monster that focuses on paralyzing, using Paralysis isn’t the best option. It’s best to try and stun it instead. You can use Flash Pods, Pitfall Traps, and Shock Traps too, if you have them. Coincidentally, the fight before this one is the Quematrice and Lala Barina is weak against the Fire element, so making a Quematrice weapon is a smart idea! A weapon that can also deal blunt or slash damage is also smart.

What are the Lala Barina drops in Monster Hunter Wilds?
The Lala Barina drops Lala Barina Claw, Lala Barina Floret, Lala Barina Stinger, Lala Barina Shell, Lala Barina Mucus, and Lala Barina Certificate. Breaking the petals on the backside will get you the Lala Barina Stinger. The Claws come from breaking the claws under its head. Mucus is the
While the Mucus and Shell are said to be the rarest parts, I found the Stinger and Claw to be harder to get. This is because of how small of a target the claws are. You’ll need those for items like the Barina Mail, Barina Vambraces, Barina Coil, and weapons.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
