Zoh Shia is the big deal, final fight of Chapter 3 in Monster Hunter Wilds. It’s a giant monster and marks the end of Nata’s story. It also is one of the bigger challenges in this part of the game, so it’s good to know what you’re heading into when you face it.
Where do I find the Zoh Shia in Monster Hunter Wilds?
You don’t need to hunt Zoh Shia down in the game. As you go through the campaign, it automatically sends you to the monster in Wyveria as part of the quest “Monster Hunter” in Chapter 3-5. So proceed with quests as usual. Face enemies like Guardian Ebony Odogaron and Xu Wu. Just know that after you faced Guardian Arkveld, this big bad is up next.
How do I beat the Zoh Shia?
Get under Zoh Shia. Like there will be times when it uses incredibly intense Fire-based attacks, including one that can nearly one-shot you if you don’t attack the Wylk pillars that appear as it’s raising itself up, charging, and preparing to unleash it. But because of the nature of its Fireblight, Dragon Qind Pressure, and Thunderblight attacks, I found being directly under itis the safest place to be.
Specifically, I recommend being under Zoh Shia’s hind legs. Because of the size of the Construct, it keeps you out of range of its AOE elemental blasts. Also, if it uses its Strong Roar to stun you, you have recovery time due to being underneath it where some attacks won’t hit.

Added bonus: If you’re under the Zoh Shia’s hind legs near the tail, it is absolutely possible to sever it. You can then carve off of it, which is handy for extra drops.
The thing about all this is, the Zoh Shia’s head is always its weakest part. Whether its crystals are intact, as they are in the early phase, or not later on in the fight, you can deal great damage with ammo-based, blunt, or slashing weapons. However, do make a point of making an Arkveld weapon before you head in, because it is susceptible to Dragon-based attacks, and you’ll absolutely have enough parts from that earlier fight in the campaign to forge something.
Don’t worry about bringing items to this fight. You can’t use Flash Pods, traps, or Sonic Bombs against it. Zoh Shia also won’t get exhausted. However, it is possible to inflict Blastblught, Paralysis, Poison, or Sleep on it. Stun… is a longshot. It shows as being possible in the notes after the fight, but I didn’t make it happen.
Also, like other Guardians, wounds will eventually heal up. So exploit ones that appear as soon as possible.
It can take a while to wear Zoh Shia down, but since there are distinct visual changes as the crystal shell is broken off, you can tell when the end is approaching! When it’s all black, you’re almost done!

What are the Zoh Shia drops?
So with Zoh Shia, you aren’t getting any unique drops! You’re getting items that can be put toward other pieces of equipment, like the Arkveld line. You’ll get lots of Guardian Scales and Guardian Pelts, with both coming from broken wings and legs. Guardian Blood is fairly common too. Nourishing Extract is where things start to get uncommon, and Tough Guardian Bone is the rarest drop.
The G. Arkveld Helm requires Guardian Blood and Guardian Scale, for example. And the G. Arkveld Mail needs Guardian Blood and Tough Guardian Bone.

Can you fight Zoh Shia again in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Nope! Zoh Shia can not be fought again in Monster Hunter Wilds after you defeat it during the campaign. You can only fight it once. As such, you get the titles “Innocent,” “Promise,” “Savior,” and “Zoh Shia” immediately after you defeat it.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
